Description

BIGTREETECH's Octopus Max EZ is a 32-bit motherboard with many interfaces for versatile upgrade possibilities. The main board is compatible with Klipper and Marlin as well as with a Raspberry Pi.

Features:

8+2 EZ driver socket

Octopus Max EZ meets the normal operating requirements, but besides these, it also supports various improvements such as upgrading to a dual extruder or running the EZ-MAX31865. It also serves as a replacement in case of a burned-out driver port.

Fail-safe design

The main board is equipped with fail-safe EZ drivers, and has a protected chip and a pinless design, making it extra safe to use!

EZ5160Pro/EZ2209 can be connected without any trouble. Thanks to the integrated SPI and UART, you don't need any jumpers!

ARM Cortex-M7 STM32H723ZET6 for Marlin and Klipper

The 32-bit 550MHz ARM Cortex-M7 STM32H723ZET6 microcontroller is compatible with both Marlin and Klipper.

TPS5450-5A chip for power supply

The power supply chip supports DC12/24V power input and power output with a maximum continuous current of 5A and a maximum instantaneous current of 6A. The chip also enables a sufficient power supply for a Raspberry Pi.

eFuse

The motherboard features eFuse, a high-end electronic fuse. When overload occurs, eFuse ensures faster shutdown; when the overload has been eliminated, it ensures automatic restarting. Highly accurate and requiring no special maintenance, eFuse protection detects any circuit failure, meeting incredibly high circuit safety standards.

  • High-power capacitors support 56V output, MCU is protected by an isolation chip;
  • Replaceable fuse with incredibly easy maintenance;
  • High-efficiency MOSFET for reducing heat generation and increasing motherboard performance.

Supports a stable connection

►Heatbed (HB) and cartridge heaters (HE0-HE3) with high-performance power supplies: A tight connection between the power cable and the socket lowers the impedance and thus increases the efficiency of the power supply.

►CNC fan connection: freely selectable between 24, 12 and 5 V.

►Proximity switch connector: Support NPN/PNP type, freely selectable between 24, 12 and 5V.

DIY friendly for more upgrade possibilities

►FPC: For connecting a MINI12864.

►ADXL345 Interface: Connection of ADXL345 acceleration sensor to realise Klipper input shaping for higher printing precision.

►More expansion connections: CAN bus interface, simplifies wiring and offers high interface immunity. Supports power failure recovery, filament runout sensor, BLTouch, auto power off, RGB, etc.

►3 x 4 pin fan connector: Designed for water cooling systems.

Optimised user experience

►SD card slot: MCU firmware upgrade via SD card is possible.

►Onboard DIAG pin: easy to configure with a jumper.

►BOOT button: Onboard BOOT button to enable DFU mode for bootloader update.
