Product information & technical details

Description

The heat break is part of the new Copperhead hotend.

The bimetallic heat break is made of stainless steel with a copper alloy, which can reach up to 450 ° C.

Troubleshooting

The Copperhead is an inexpensive open-source hotend option that can handle high heat. Replace your hotend with the Copperhead to improve the performance of your 3D printer and reduce jamming. So you get a smooth print every time.

Advanced materials

In contrast to most materials, plastics do not have a smooth transition from solid to liquid when melted. As the filament moves through the hotend, it heats up and reaches the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the material, transitioning into a semi-solid, semi-fluid, “sticky” state. An efficient heat break will reduce the physical distance while the plastic is on Tg, thus improving the 3D printer's performance. Slice Engineering's Bimetal Heat Break is one of the few heat breaks that was developed using thermal imaging to optimise heat transfer.
