Description
3D Printer Out of the Box
The Qidi i-Mate S is a ready-to-use printer that requires no assembly out of the box.
Advanced Metal Frame
Unlike conventional DIY printers, the i-Mate S uses a more advanced metal frame and high-quality housing, which is manufactured in a full-mold design. This results in higher printing precision, stability and durability.
Additional Hotend with 0.2mm Nozzle & Completely Closable Package Space
In addition to the standard 0.4mm nozzle hotend, the Qidi i-Mate S also comes with an additional 0.2mm nozzle hotend, ideal for printing precision models.
Compared to its predecessor, the i-Mate S can be completely sealed with the included cover.
Flexible Build Plate
The magnetic printing plate is equipped with special magnets and a flexible metal plate. After printing, the plate can be easily removed and the printed result can be easily removed.
Resumption after Power Failure
In the event of a power failure during printing, the printer automatically saves the print progress, which can be used to resume printing afterwards.
3.5-Inch Touch Screen
The large and straightforward touchscreen interface allows you to keep an eye on the print status at all times. This makes printing more intuitive, more precise and easier to use.
Quiet Motherboard
A TMC2209 driver chip keeps the operating volume very low at 50 decibels, so the printer does not disturb the surrounding environment.
Qidi Slicer Software
The improved Qidi software is suitable for all Qidi Tech 3D printers and is free of charge.
Build volume: 270 x 200 x 200 mm
Compatible materials: PLA, PETG, TPU etc.

Ideal for ABS
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
Review after several months of usage and several spools of filament
First, it came with the X axis detached from one side. After some nasty words and pushing I reattached it. After that the belt for the X axis came off, this was difficult to reattach, but succeeded.
After this not so good first impression, everything was good.
Pros
The magnetic plate is superb
The aluminum bed is thick, so when it heats it stays heated for long time
The spool holder can handle 2-3 spools
The interface of the display is easy, it supports filament changing.
The print speed is good.
The second extruder is a nice spare to have(never printed with the 0.2 nozzle)
The included Cura clone slicer is actually very usable and easy
When connected to Wi-Fi can print directly from the slicer
The bed leveling is assisted and very easy
The Qidi Tech support is responsive and very helpful
Cons
The machine is big, really BIG!
The display is small and not very responsive
The motherboard, the extruder etc... are proprietary, so any upgrade is difficult
The drivers aren't silent
No all metal hot end, the max temp with the included PTFE lined heatbreak is 240 degrees C(which is sane)
The bed is not square and doesn't heat evenly
When printing abs/asa... the model should be in the center and preferably round or square shape
The Z axis is only 200mm
The Z axis is supported only from one side and this creates wobbles
Can connect to OctoPrint, but not easy, with wireless serial or with a ttl to usb(there's ports on the motherboard)
Overall for PLA any ender/clone is better, cheaper with better print quality
For ABS is actually very good
It's a strange printer, like an Apple product, it doesn't do everything, but what it does it does it very good. Was this rating helpful? (4) (1)

Amazing machine...
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I got my I-Mate S about two weeks ago and I have been 3D printing every day since then. I leveled the printer on the first day and not a single print has failed. I was stunned by the quality of the first test prints and I have done several functional prints like drive gears to my Neato D5. It might be a little more expensive than some common printers, but if you look at what it can do, it is actually pretty cheap:
1. It is preassembled, just unbox it and you'll be printing within 30 minutes.
2. It is enclosed, so you can easily print materials that other printers struggle with.
3. It has a stable, thick aluminum bed with a removable magnetic print-bed. It does not need auto-leveling, you level it manually, but it stays level for a long time.
4. The print sticks really good, and I mean REALLY good, to the bed, so I use a glue stick to prevent the prints to stick too well and damage the print bed surface.
5. You can connect to the printer via wifi and send prints from any computer on the network with Qidi-Print (Cura clone) slicer. You can also start prints and then monitor them with Qidi Control Panel (PC only at the moment?)
5. It comes with a complete extra 0.2 mm extruder, an extra print-bed, tools, and spare parts like an extra 0.4 mm nozzle.
6. A print volume of 260 x 200 x 200 mm, more than enough for most people.
