Great but software support not good
Rated with 2 out of 5 stars.
I bought this as Biqu products are very good quality and I have not had any issues until now.
The idex kit for the Biqu b1 was easy to install the hardware, and I also successfully installed the dual z kit at the same time.
Everything was going really well until you get to the firmware. I searched GitHub and under the b1 files there is a idex marlin firmware available, but it’s a pain if you have installed a bltouch. The firmware does not use the bltouch for the z-endstop but the mechanical switch instead so getting the bltouch and switch to be in sync is terrible. The bed mesh does not cover the whole bed as the measuring points are not setup properly and even tries to take readings off the bed and the heads crash into the bed.
Tried to contact Biqu support and they go deaf and blind to the problems, this product is not supported by Biqu in any way so you need to compile your own firmware to get this printer running idex properly, else I suggest you don’t buy it and look for another idex printer solution. Was this rating helpful? Be careful of the LCD pinout.
Rated with 3 out of 5 stars.
The LCD cable came pinned wrong sending 5v to the RX line. This burned up the input and I had to modify the firmware to use an alternate header.
The z belt was ~20mm too long and I had to crimp a new clamp to remove the slack.
The precompiled firmwares may not match the intructions or videos in regards to which pin to jumper for sending the probe enable signal to the proper hotend.
I recommend this kit for someone who knows marlin quite well and can modify the probe defined pins and add the option of using G34 to assist in calculating the offset between Z=0 of the individual hotends. Marlin doesn't currently have any function enabled to use the probing of both hotends to automate this so some tweaking will be very necessary.
The parts alone are worth the price as spares, but using the IDEX as intended is going to be a chore!
