Description
High-temperature polyamide filled with glass microspheres
Spectrum PA6 GK10 is a new high-temperature construction material based on polyamide 6. The filling with glass microspheres makes the material stiffer and lighter.
A characteristic feature of Spectrum PA6 GK10 is its low moisture exposure, high-temperature resistance and good electrical insulation compared to unmodified PA6 and PA66.
Spectrum PA6 GK10 has similar thermal properties to the carbon fibre (CF) version, while also being an electrical insulator. The material is not as abrasive to nozzles as the carbon fibre version and is much lighter than pure polyamide so it can help reduce the weight of the final print.
Key Features of Spectrum PA6 GK10
- Polyamide 6 base with glass microsphere filling
- High-temperature resistance (short-term up to 160 °C, long-term up to 120 °C)
- High creep resistance
- Electrical insulator
- Heat resistance - HDT A 90 °C (ISO 75)
- High hardness and rigidity
- Water absorption below 0.3% (23 °C / 24 h)
- Resistant to lubricants and oils
- Low shrinkage
- Wide range of applications
- Increased chemical and corrosion resistance
- Robust layer adhesion
- High resistance to thermal ageing
Applications of Spectrum PA6 GK10
Models made with Spectrum PA6 GK10 allow long-term operation at elevated temperatures up to 120 °C (20,000 h) and short-term up to 160 °C (max. 200 h).
- Functional prototyping
- Print items that work under real-world conditions
- Production tools
- Manufacture of parts for end use
- Manufacture of wheels and racks, scrapers and guide rollers working at elevated temperatures
- All types of sealing rings and plates with increased chemical and corrosion resistance
Printing & Storage of Spectrum PA6 GK10 Filament
In order to achieve the attractive properties of PA6 GK10 from a technical point of view, care must be taken to store the material properly. Storage in a dry and dark place with a humidity of less than 15% is ideal.
In order to get the best possible parameters of the model, it is recommended to dry the material before use.
